Atlantic ocean shore hike
Jaizkibel, our beloved small mountain of various faces. During the winter season it protects us from the roughness of the bay of Biscay. However, whenever the weather softens, it provides us with the opportunity of multiple wonderful little excursions. Located along Santiago pilgrimage initial trail, countless feet have walked its trails through the centuries. This hike, though, takes us in the opposite direction, heading east with the french coast at the back.
For this walk you can choose between two options: the first one, more energetic, runs near the ocean shore, passing wild rocky bays through a natural thick grass scenario which, occasionally, appears to be dotted with moonscape corners. The second one, a little shorter and more relaxing, goes comfortably across chestnuts and pinewoods offering a little more distant view of both the same bays and the ocean. The walk will take us all the way to downtown Hondarribia, right in time to enjoy the fantastic local gastronomy in pintxo format…
