Walking the rural soul

Do you like to walk lively but without stress while enjoying the countryside or the mountains? This section offers you some proposals to breathe a natural environment that has been patiently “domesticated” for generations by the rural world to generate an integrated, self-sufficient and highly sustainable ecosystem.

All tours in this section begin with a drive (40–60 minutes) to the point from which we start walking. In most of them, once we start walking, we enter areas where there is no access by car except for park rangers. These are walks of low to medium difficulty for those who are used to nature or who are used to walking regularly. The walking time indicated in the descriptions is an average estimate for an unhurried but brisk walk.

Lush & green mountain hike

Artikutza natural park is located in an area with one of the highest rainfalls in Europe. Walking through a forest dotted with small streams of crystal clear water, our track passes very ancient traces of human presence.

Mountaineer's luncheon hike

Riding along the beautiful coastal road of “La Corniche”, across the French-Spanish border, we reach the charming San Jean de Luz, an ancient harbor town of whalers and pirates.

Atlantic Ocean shore hike

Jaizkibel, our beloved small mountain of various faces. Located along the Santiago pilgrimage trail, countless feet have walked its trails through the centuries.

The water trail hike

A lively, light walk, flanked by ferns, family orchards and small meadows where sheep graze. With advance notice, we can even visit a corn mill and learn about some of the archaic customs that are still alive in the area.
