Mushrooms, how delicious! Here in the Basque Country, we appreciate them a lot for their culinary qualities.
They are also an integral part of the mythology and folklore of many cultures and of books that have become part of the collective imagination.
But did you know that they are essential to forest ecosystems and that without them, forests could not survive in the long term? They are absolutely critical to the sustainability, biodiversity, and health of both forests and our planet.
Moreover, in the very near future, fungi will become a surprisingly rich source for the development of new materials with very diverse applications, from medicine to technology and even fashion.
Doesn't that sound like sustainability on trend?
Today, I propose that we go out and meet them in their natural environment and explore and delve into mycology to gain a more profound understanding of the intricate web of life that inhabits the forests.
And we will do it hand in hand with an expert, a true professional in the field of mycology, who will introduce us to this wonderful world.
